"Serving Beyonce wind in hair since '86, y'all"
OMG HAI Y'all!!! I’m Latia, a makeup artist/hairstylist, wardrobe stylist, based out of Greenville, SC. Greenville is a lovely town exactly 2 hours betwixed hotbed of film; Atlanta, Georgia and southern sports and banking magnate, Charlotte, NC. Our wedding season lasts from early March thru December. So I stay busy with that almost all year round! I recently was department head of makeup, hair, and wardrobe depts for my first feature length film (Heaven’s Grace...look me up on IMDB!) and was the key makeup/hair artist for several commercials aired through the Southeast! I got my start with makeup in theater. I was (and still am) a terrible actress so I found myself spending more and more time in the makeup and hair room. After a brief stint in music school, I tried my hand at managing a cosmetics line (Benefit Cosmetics) and fell in LOVE with pursuing makeup artistry and leadership as a career. I am a firm believer in lifting as you climb and I love nothing more than empowering people to be the absolute best that they wish to be. I am insanely lucky to be one of the lead artists on the Cotton Rouge and Company team, lead and owned by Katie Cotton. I’ve got an awesome artist spotlight to share about her later!!!!
A little bit more about me...because lets be honest, we're here to learn about moiiiiii
FAVORITE PRIMER: Set the Stage by Whip Hand. If you don't own it, buy it by the buckets and don't share with anyone. It is the ring and you are Gollum. Do not share.
FAVORITE LIP PRODUCT: Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. It moisturizes. It heals. I use it to tame my unruly brows. I use on my cuticles. I love it for lips, but I put it on ALL THE THINGS!!!
FAVORITE EYE PRODUCT: I live by the gospel of a good eye cream. Lord, deliver us from bags and puffiness and deliver us into light and bright., Amen. I'm a big fan of Kiehl's Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream.
FAVORITE MAKEUPS: No lie, Rachel Lisa sent me some of this Secret Weapon Seamless Powder Foundation and I be loving it til death do us part. I have oily skin. Like "black don't crack (because it don't) oily skin. And I do not like to mattify myself into submission. Why? Because I'd have to maintain it all day and I'm really too lazy to do it. I like a glow. It's healthy. It looks like I just went for a brisk walk (I didn't) or that I may have had a healthy romp in the sack (not likely). A little of this and some 8 Hour Cream on the lips and to tame the brows and I'm off to set or out the door!
So why guest blogging for Rachel Lisa Makeup? For starters, she’s AWESOME! Who in their right minds wouldn’t want to blog with someone who is SO knowledgeable and talented. I get to help her share product reviews, artists spotlights, trends in stylings of all types. I get to empower you to be fearless and try new things! I get to connect with all of you lovely readers and gain feedback from your experiences with makeup, hair, products, etc. It’s like our own little makeup commune and we get to hold hands, play in product and sing “All the Single Ladies” to our heart’s content.
I can’t wait to start sharing some fabulousness with you all.
