DC-Native makeup artist Rachel Lewis says she was bitten with the makeup bug in Junior High, when she was given her first very own makeup from Fashion Fair, the global luxury brand that specializes in makeup for women of color. Making brides feel amazing on their wedding day is one of Rachel's biggest joys, as she believes that every woman is beautiful and loves helping them find that 'it' look that will make them shine from the inside out. While Rachel is now herself a beauty guru, she admits that even she has had some beauty looks that weren't exactly on point, like the time she shaved off her widow's peak at age 9, causing her father to think she had ringworm, and her mother to ground her. But those days are long gone, and as a self-taught artist, Rachel has used her tough work ethic to build up an impressive body of work in the bridal and fashion industries. Rachel has been working with Rachel Lisa since 2012, and is always a client favorite, inspiring the term #TeamRachel. You can find her assisting Rachel, winging out her eyeliner to perfection, jamming out to Coldplay, playing guitar and piano and watching Jeffrey Star videos. While Emily's ultimate goal is to become an oncologist, makeup is her passion that provides her with officially the coolest job ever held by a high school student. Hailing all the way from across the pond in England, Helen may be one of the most beloved team members at Rachel Lisa makeup artistry, simply for her sweet and caring personality. Helen's makeup work and personality can both be described in two words: simply lovely! She has been working in makeup now for almost a decade and with Rachel since 2013. Helen's desire to become an artist began when she would watch her mother sitting at her vanity applying her makeup, and she was just fascinated by how soft or dramatic the transformation could be. Helen's hobbies include yoga, talking in an adorable accent, cooking, and of course, doing makeup. Helen is married with two daughters, Evie and Violet. She prefers tea to coffee and Prince Harry to Prince William. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions about booking Helen for a wedding or special occasion!
